Enterprising solutions to regeneration
Amanda Brassington
A keen researcher, with a particular interest in evaluation and social impact measurement Amanda has designed and successfully managed a number of research projects.
Prior to joining Pelican, Amanda worked in the voluntary and community sector for twelve years, where she worked as Research Manager at Manor and Castle Development Trust Ltd and Project Development Manager at a social enterprise construction firm.
Her key experiences include: mapping and feasibility studies; evaluations; appraisal of existing strategic services; baseline analysis; establishing KPIs and the setting and measuring of quality of life indicators.
Amanda has a degree in Business Management, specialising in Community Development.
She is an open listener, an interpretivist and has a keen interest in ensuring every interaction is a learning experience for all involved. Amanda is an accredited Social Accountant and social accounting trainer, using the SAN model.

Ruth Livesey
Combining skills accumulated in the private, public and social economy sectors, Ruth is a strategic thinker; investigative and perceptive, able to generate action to facilitate the journey to solution.
With career foundations built in financial accounting and auditing, she identified enterprise support and development as a field where she could make a difference. Moving from private sector business support within Business Link Merseyside to a key role in the Social Economy Team at Liverpool City Council, Ruth built her experience to incorporate increasingly strategic activities, including project design and implementation.
In her most recent role before Pelican, Ruth built the social enterprise: Women's Business Network (NW) Ltd, achieving a membership of fifty networks across the North West region, representing over 5,000 women in business.
Ruth has a Masters in Social Enterprise at Liverpool John Moores University, awarded with Distinction.
She has a particular interest in the social economy sector and is a great believer in the value of networks to encourage the expansion of social capital, through trust and reciprocity.

Nicola Scott
A policy and practice regeneration expert with over 20 years experience working in the private and third sectors at Regional, National and European levels.
Able to see the bigger picture, but not frightened of rolling up her sleeves and getting her hands dirty, Nick has exceptional bid writing and fundraising skills, having raised in excess of £55 million in the past five years and yet she does not describe herself as a fundraiser!
Social enterprise specialist and advocate, she is well respected in the field, having worked for, with and in the social enterprise sector. In the past she has managed a large regional Social Enterprise: VONEF (Y&H) and set up the regional Social Enterprise Practitioners' Group in Yorkshire.
Her strategic experience has been gathered through a wide range of contracts, for example: Regional Development Agencies (RDA); National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and Department for International Development (DfID).
Nick has an MSc in Urban Regeneration.
A consummate networker, relationship forger and partnership broker, she is a solution focused, deadline driven, no nonsense, effective project manager.
